Quote of the Day: Where Did Palestinians Come From?

[tweetmeme] After Israel stormed the aid convoy last week and after long-time White House correspondent Helen Thomas said she believed the Jews should get out of Palestine and go back to Poland and Germany, there have been many serious analyses and dissections of events (too many on this blog?) as well as some offensive spoofs.  Fortunately, Stephen Colbert is there to lighten the situation with a great debate with himself as well as with Israeli Ambassador to the US Michael Oren. The whole (unembeddable) video is worth watching for those who need a moral boost among the depressing events of the last few weeks.  Here is the money quote:

I repudiate what Helen said.  She’s a friend of mine, but I repudiate everything she said. ‘Go back to Poland, god back to Germany’.’  That’s ridiculous.  Israel is for Israelis.  If anything, Palestinians should go back from where they came from.  [laughter applause]  Do you agree?  Do you agree, sir?  It’s time to get them back to where ever that was.

  1. “palestinian” common family names:

just like “Saddam Hussein al-Tikriti” born in “tikrit iraq”
The family names of Arabs who now occupy judea reveal their country of origin:

“Masri” =from Egypt-Hamas member of Parliament, Mushir al-Masri (the word “masri” littelery means “the egyption” in arabic !).
    “Khamis”= Bahrain “Salem Hanna Khamis”
    “al-Faruqi”= Mosul iraq
“al-Araj” = Morocco,a member of the Saadi Dynasty “Hussein al-Araj”
    “al Lubnani” =the lebanese
“al-Mughrabi” = the Moroccan (Maghreb” – meaning “West” in Arabic, and usually referring to North Africa or specifically to Morocco)
    “al-Djazair” =the Algerian
“al-Yamani” = the Yemeni “Issam Al Yamani”
    “al-Afghani” = the Afghan
    “al-Hindi” =the Indian “Amin al-Hindi”

“Keserwani” = from lebanon Keserwan District
“Costantinides” = from greece (well known greco name)
“Hamati” = from syria ( HAMA city)
    “Othman” = turky
“Alawi” = from syria (minority religious group in syria)

    “Nashashibi” = syria.
    “Bushnak” =bosnia
    “zoabi”= from iraq “Haneen Zoabi”.
    “Turki” =turky “Daud Turki”
    “al-Kurd” = kurdistan.
“Haddadins” = YEMEN descended from Ghassanid Christian Arabs.
    “Arab Abu-Kishk” = Egypt.(Bedouins)
“Arab al shakirat” = Egypt (Bedouins)
“Arab al zabidat” = Egypt (Bedouins)
“Arab al aramsha” = Egypt (Bedouins)
“Abu Sitta” =In Arabic’ Abu means father and sitta means six. Translated it actually means father of six. The Abu Sitta family primarily received this name because around the year 1700, a well known knight of the large Al-Tarabeen tribe always had six slaves (i.e. fedawyah, bodygaurds), 3 on each side, with him. They were with him wherever he went, day or night. Hence the name “ABU SITTA.” =Egypt (Bedouins) “Salman Abu Sitta ”

Even “Arafat”, the most famous fakestinian and leader of the terrorist grup the P.L.O, is not native to judea. He called himself a “Palestinian refugee” but spoke Arabic with Egyptian dialect. He was born in 1929 Cairo, Egypt. He served in the Egyptian army, studied in the University of Cairo, and lived in Cairo until 1956 !
Arafat’s full name was Mohammed Abdel Rahman Abdel Raouf Arafat al-Qudwa al-Husseini.
    “Al-Qudwa” tribe origin?

    -Professor Azmi Bishara(Arabic: عزمي بشارة)–

“There is no “palestinian nation” !
when were there any Palestinians??? LOL
until the end of the 19th century, Palestine was the south of “Greater Syria” another resent invention.
there is only an arab nation !
the word “palestine” its self is a colonial invention used by the romans in order to erase the jewish identity of judea and israel.
even the “Palestinian National Charter” recognizes all the jews living in the region prior to the 1948 war as “palestinians” !
its an intellectual fad, divorced from the concerns of uneducated people”

    1. Other than your utter failure to reincarnate Joan Peter’s factually deficient argument I shall keep this short and go after the parts of interest to me. Yasser Arafat lived in the Moroccan quarter of the Old City during most of the Arab Revolt from 1936-1939 and yes was born in Cairo which he stated many times. His family through the generations migrated through various parts of Palestine, especially Jerusalem and Gaza and under financial necessity moved to Cairo. This was all stated by Arafat in various interviews with authors, journalists, and the like. The Moroccan quarter was demolished and depopulated in 1967 by Israel after being in place for nearly 800 years from after Salah al-Din liberated it during the Crusades.
If the PLO is a terrorist organization as you say why doesn’t any country, not even the US or Israel recognize it as much? Why does Israel recognize it as being the sole representative of the Palestinian people? If Palestinians never existed why were their journals, newspapers, and pediodicals named Palestine, Our Palestine, etc from the late 19th century onwards? Roams called the land Philistine as tribute to the Philistians who the Jews battled many times and as a way of erasing the Israelite Kingdom…just as Israel wiped out, unsuccessfully, Palestine and called Israel as prt of a colonial project. Herzl called the land Palestine, as did all other Zionist leaders, and even Mark Twain called it as such. Your points are rather moot it seems, nice try though. You should check out Shlomo Sand’s “The Inevention of the Jewish People” if you want a real story of mythistory.
